Identify the liquid and container

State the liquid name, concentration, temperature and viscosity. Describe the drum, barrel or tank dimensions and the available opening. The container and fluid details help define what needs to be reviewed when discussing a drum-pump configuration.

Explain the transfer requirement

Provide the required transfer rate, discharge arrangement and operating frequency. Include the hose route and the destination vessel. If the pump will be moved between containers or fluids, explain that use pattern and the cleaning requirements. These details should be reviewed with the proposed materials and accessories.

Include the complete equipment scope

Specify the available motor power supply and any operating-area requirements. State whether the enquiry includes the pump tube, motor, hose, nozzle or other accessories. Their compatibility should be confirmed for the selected configuration rather than assumed from a general product-family name.

Send an identifiable request

For a replacement, attach the pump and motor nameplates plus any part codes. For a new installation, send the application information and required quantity. You can start with DFIN’s FTI / Finish Thompson collection and request a review of the appropriate product family and supply scope.
